15:50 Lecture "Structure of a medieval city", Matvey Borun, historian and medievalist, teacher at the "Forest" school. In the Middle Ages cities changed a lot: they shrank, were surrounded by walls, their residents took on very specific crafts and belonged to strict organizations. Traces of this can be seen even now on maps of any city that existed in the Middle Ages. We'll try together to find common features in such different cities as Paris, Tallinn and Bamberg, and create our own unique medieval city maps.
