How are book illustrations born — and can you invent a story yourself and bring it to life on paper? We will talk about how illustration became an independent art form — and try it in practice. We invite everyone interested in illustration and books: beginning and practicing artists, designers, parents and anyone who wants to try creativity — even without experience. In the lecture we will learn: 🤩 all about the history of book illustration — from the 11th century to the present day 🤩 the first illustrated books, fairy tales and ABCs 🤩 printing techniques and the development of the children’s book 🤩 styles, trends and contemporary illustration 🤩 illustration as an independent language and “silent books” 🤩 how work with publishers is organized and how to enter the profession In the workshop: ➡️ we will invent a story together ➡️ create a character (including through game mechanics) ➡️ make a storyboard ➡️ try to create our own illustrations or even a small collage book 🗣 Natalia Mankovskaya — illustrator, 5 years working with publishers, including Serbian ones (Kreativni Centar and Prometej). She has drawn all her life and is in love with her craft. 🗓 2 May (Saturday) 15:00 🎫 Price: 2000 RSD (lecture + workshop) with prior registration via the link (https://luma.com/wxrbipvv) (you can also attend only the lecture or only the workshop (https://luma.com/0rrq8msy)) 📍Vojvode Dobrnjca 48, Beograd (https://maps.app.goo.gl/e9z8stFHUZdGM7u88) Sign up hassle-free in KiddoDu or via direct message to the organizer: https://t.me/auditoria_beograd
