Enrollment open for the 2026/27 school year! Bananalama Preschool is a step between kindergarten and school. Our goal is not merely to “teach reading and writing,” but to give a child the stability and skills a first grader really needs. It doesn’t matter which school they will attend. This is the fourth intake to our Preschool, and past years’ experience confirms: in preschool age it’s more important not to drill school subjects or “learn the language” but to help a child find a foothold, gently enter a new language environment, get used to daily workload, and love learning. That is what we give our preschoolers. What children take to first grade? • Understand what a “lesson” is and can sustain attention • Follow instructions and finish tasks • Are not afraid of mistakes — try, experiment, grow • Can interact with other children and adults • Understand basic Serbian and are not afraid to speak in a learning environment • Know about personal boundaries and why it’s important to respect them • Feel included and ready for school rather than lost first-graders FAQ How do we work? Weekdays from 09:00 to 17:00, September–June. There are short winter holidays. Ages? 5–7 years Address? Novi Sad centre, Školska 12 Who works with the children? Russian-speaking and Serbian-speaking teachers and tutors experienced with children Cost? 470 EUR or 55,500 RSD per month. All materials and three meals a day with homemade lunches are included.
