On May 21–22 Montenegro has public holidays, so we decided to run a small creative day camp for children in Podgorica. Theme: “Sakura Bloom”. It will not be just a set of workshops, but two days in the atmosphere of a Japanese spring garden: watercolor, embroidery, decorative applied arts, ceramics, a walk, lunch, games, a film screening and a final mini-exhibition. Children will paint, make things with their hands, walk, switch between different tasks and gradually create their own little hanami celebration. Non-academic drawing - for exploration, sensory experience, and fine-motor development. For older children, these classes help slow down, enjoy the creative process, and shift the focus from “doing it right” to experiencing art. Most importantly, drawing strengthens attention and perseverance, supports emotional regulation and self-connection, and helps build a healthier sense of confidence and self-esteem.
more «painting» →More formal clay work aimed at creating figures or objects, most often followed by firing and glazing. It helps develop fine motor skills, patience, focus, and gives a calming, stress-relieving experience through hands-on creativity.
more «ceramics» →A mix of drawing, sculpting, collage, model-making, handicrafts, and applied creative techniques — including inventing and making board games or similar projects. Activities can be about the pure joy of exploration and creativity, or about developing fine motor skills, exploring art through practice, learning language, history, and beyond.
more «creative classes» →Children create with household and natural materials, scissors, glue, and a mix of techniques. Activities range from designing personal projects to following a guided example. They provide a rich sensory experience, strengthen fine motor skills and focus, teach planning, and help children feel a sense of achievement, pride, and the joy of “I made it!” — “I did it myself!”.
more «creative DIY crafts» →Places and events where parents and children can spend quality time together — bonding through creative classes, family sports, treasure hunts, camps, and other shared experiences.
more «familytime» →Besides watching films together, these most often include follow up discussions. The value of such meetings lies in live communication — the opportunity to express one’s opinion, be heard, learn to articulate thoughts, and listen to others. Film clubs help children find like-minded peers and develop emotional intelligence and a sense of belonging to a community.
