Program: Amateur horsemen (cavaleiros amadores) demonstrate horsemanship Forcados — daring performers who catch the bull by hand (a classic Portuguese tradition) An atmosphere of complete freedom: after street festivities, grilled sardines and music, youth and afición gather here until dawn. Tradition meets drive, fun and energy. This is one of the most popular and anticipated moments of the Colete Encarnado festival — when the arena turns into a huge open‑air party. ❗️In Portugal in such performances (including garraiadas) the bulls are not killed in the arena. This is the main difference from the Spanish style. Animals return to the herd after the show. The tradition focuses on skill, bravery and spectacle, not on death.
