Dear friends! We announce official enrollment for Session 2 of ŠUMA camp for teens 12+! Every summer parents face the same task: how to give a teenager a real rest that is more than a change of location and immerses them in real life, showing the best sides of the living and varied world. The aim is not only to occupy time, but to create a space from which the teen returns with new ideas, new friends and a more attentive view of the world and themselves. For this we have ŠUMA camp, opening its fourth season this summer in a unique national-park location among mountain forest and lakes. Session 2 runs from July 6 to 13 — 8 days in mountain, very comfortable and beautiful chalets. The session is assembled the way teens might dream summer to be. There will be long beautiful routes, swimming in lakes and music by the campfire, a pleasant tiredness in the evening after which you sleep well and don’t want to pick up your phone. This time there will be even more interesting and unusual activities. What we will do: ⭕️ Unique: a Japan-themed track throughout the session — language, writing, literature and cinema; a rock garden and work with attention and understanding why silence can be meaningful. 🍀Hiking and swimming in mountain lakes 🍀Math (and physics) with our teachers Katerina and Daria — discovering logic, solving beautiful problems and finding different solutions. Also board games. 🍀Engineering: we will build and launch things that can fly — from idea and design to impressive result. 🍀Biology: learning to notice and distinguish living things around us; exploring the micro-world (microscopes). 🍀Creativity and plein-air with taste, awareness of form, observation and the ability to propose a new view. 🍀Kitchen: healthy and tasty. This session includes culinary masterclasses where kids will learn to make gёdza, poke and popular takeaway-style dishes. 🍀Music under the open stars — sometimes classical, sometimes unexpected. Music sounds different in the mountains. 🚩An important feature: beloved Adriatic Open teachers travel with the kids — adults who know how to be with teens without falsity or pressure, interesting and professional mentors.
