Saturday 11:30–13:00 Soon we will celebrate the main and most beloved holiday of our city — Festa de São João. We will take a short journey into the world of traditions and genuine city magic. We will learn the legend told by the old fisherman Manuel about why this holiday appeared, how it began and what secrets the night of São João hides — a night when, people say, wishes are especially easy to make. 👃🪴We will learn how to properly “listen to the scent” of the manjerico — the small basil without which June in Porto is unimaginable. 🧅👏We will understand why people on the streets tap each other with little hammers — and why it is not about hitting, but about joy and friendship. At the end, each child will create their own pot with basil and write wishes for their dearest people 💛 It will be magical, loud in the Portuguese way, fun and very heartfelt. A creative direction built around stories. Children create plots and characters and learn to tell and experience stories through words, play, drawing, or movement. These activities develop imagination, language, emotional intelligence, and the ability to understand oneself and others through narrative.
more «storytelling» →Children create with household and natural materials, scissors, glue, and a mix of techniques. Activities range from designing personal projects to following a guided example. They provide a rich sensory experience, strengthen fine motor skills and focus, teach planning, and help children feel a sense of achievement, pride, and the joy of “I made it!” — “I did it myself!”.
more «creative DIY crafts» →Everything that broadens children’s horizons and helps them understand the world through images, stories, and experiences. This part of the “basic activity balance” helps develop empathy, nourishes imagination, and supports the ability to see things from different perspectives. And of course, it’s also enjoyable shared time — endless opportunities for discussion and exchanging impressions.
more «cultural enrichment» →Places and events where parents and children can spend quality time together — bonding through creative classes, family sports, treasure hunts, camps, and other shared experiences.
