Summer festival of the Forest school — Nyberg school, Yerevan, Vaghrama Papazyan St., 101. 15:50 Lecture “Structure of a Medieval City”, Matvey Borun, historian and medievalist, teacher at the Forest school. In the Middle Ages cities changed dramatically: they became smaller, were fortified with walls, their inhabitants practiced specific crafts and joined strict organizations. Traces of this can still be seen on the map of any city that existed in the Middle Ages. Together we will look for common features in very different cities like Paris, Tallinn and Bamberg, and create our own unique maps of medieval cities.
