Has your child suddenly become sharp, closed-off, arguing about anything, distancing themselves and seeming to “bristle” at attempts to talk? Many parents feel that the usual contact with their child has suddenly disappeared. This lecture-discussion is intended for parents, teachers and anyone who needs it. At the lecture we will cover: - physiological features of adolescence and their impact on behavior and emotions; - why teenagers become more sensitive, hot-tempered or closed-off; - how the need for closeness and autonomy changes; - how to preserve emotional contact and avoid turning communication into constant conflict; - what helps a teenager feel support even if they don’t show it; - typical adult mistakes and ways to avoid them. The lecture is led by Maria Skorobogatova — clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist, a therapist in evidence-based approaches. She has worked with children and families for over 20 years, helping to better understand behavior, emotions and developmental characteristics of the child.
