The Help is a novel about the lives of Black maids in Jackson (Mississippi) in the 1960s against the backdrop of the US civil rights movement. It tells the story of private fates that reflect the structure of an entire society — its silence, fear and inequality. Skeeter, Aibileen and Minny show different ways of existing within the same system: from privilege to survival, from silence to the attempt to speak. We will try to see how personal stories become part of a historical turning point and how the “normality” that is rarely questioned is formed. 📅 21 April, 19:30 📍 Happytoria Berlin (Bülowstraße 89, 10783 Berlin) 💰 €15 📲 Registration: https://t.me/happytoria_berlin Register without fuss in KiddoDu or via the organizer's direct message: https://t.me/happytoria_berlin
