In this session we'll travel to Asgard with the dwarf Alvis — a very clever (and very self-assured) character from Norse mythology. He knew the answers to almost every question… but did he notice the most important thing? To the music of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg (‘Wedding Day at Troldhaugen’) we will approach the myth as a living story, play an attention and perception game, and take part in a fun quiz with unexpected answers. We'll work on attention and try to notice details in the world around us, and understand the difference between 'I know' and 'I notice'. Our story will gently show how excessive confidence can do us a disservice. A little fairy tale, a little music, a little humor will help awaken an important skill: being attentive to the world we live in. Play-based music sessions where children explore sound and rhythm through songs, clapping, shakers, and simple instruments. The variety of sounds, rhythms, and movements provides rich sensory input, supports inter-hemispheric integration, develops auditory perception, rhythm, coordination, and early foundations for speech and language.
