On the weekend the Museum of African Art will host the annual Afro-Festival dedicated to the cultural traditions and contemporary art of African countries. The two-day programme includes art and craft workshops, interactive sessions on tying traditional turbans, mural-making and an introduction to the mancala board game. There will also be themed tours of the museum's permanent collection and a current exhibition about using household waste as art resources. The event will conclude with a concert by the pan-African women's group Les Amazones d'Afrique.
