Address: Belgrade, Zvezdara, Hektorovićeva street, the little house at Masha's. Age groups: junior group from 4 years, middle group (intermediate), senior group up to 14 years. When: on Saturdays; from September an additional evening weekday group is planned. The art studio is led by artist Gala Mashanova. In classes children learn about works of various Russian (Vasnetsov, Chagall, Serebryakova, etc.) and world (Matisse, etc.) artists, different techniques of applying image, folk paintings and patterns (gzhel, khokhloma, Mezen painting, indigenous ornaments, Japanese techniques, etc.). Children are inspired by works and create their own original drawings rather than copying. In addition to drawing — modelling from air‑drying clay: children learn techniques, use different tools and paint their works. Examples of lessons are listed in the announcement (Russian tales by Vasnetsov; “Flying Hero” inspired by Marc Chagall; Nicholas Roerich landscapes; Paul Signac and pointillism; Almond Tree by Van Gogh; still lifes by Matisse/Cézanne/Picasso; folk crafts; Chinese New Year; botanical painting, etc.). Non-academic drawing - for exploration, sensory experience, and fine-motor development. For older children, these classes help slow down, enjoy the creative process, and shift the focus from “doing it right” to experiencing art. Most importantly, drawing strengthens attention and perseverance, supports emotional regulation and self-connection, and helps build a healthier sense of confidence and self-esteem.
more «painting» →A process-focused approach where children build their own little worlds out of clay or create together, exploring transformations and interacting through what they make. Along the way, they express what matters to them — emotions, interests, and lived experiences. Through this hands-on play, feelings that may be difficult to put into words take shape, becoming something the child can gently take control of.
